This is an excellent piece of equipment!! Really did improve the quality of life in my home. I did not have a "C" wire so I was very concerned about installing the "C Wire Adapter". I was extremely surprised at no only the ease of installing but, thanks to the extensive instructions, I actually did not have to install one of the "C Wire Adapters"! What a joy!!
We were having problems with our heating and cooling in our auditorium. Too many helpers changing the settings and the large space was cooling unevenly. The location of the single thermostat was challenging to manage the temperature of the space. So, we installed the T9 in the front of the room with the extra sensor in the back, setting the T9 up to average. The overall comfort in the room is greatly improved, very pleased with the results. We have a separate hot air furnace and single zone AC system. They originally had individual thermostats. I wanted to have a single thermostat with auto change over. I wired the AC using the RC,Y,C,G. The heat used the RH & W terminals. The T9 functioned perfectly controlling both units. If you do not have a basic understanding of wiring and operation of your system you may want to get some assistance, but installation is very easy for the typical system. The Honeywell App was giving me a socket failure, switched to 2.4 on the router and all loaded smoothly. Setting up the T9 was a snap. You can fully configure the thermostat from the app. It will set up the time and day automatically if connected to the app and also display the outside temperature from the local weather service. The schedule can be fully configured. You can change the default times and temperatures for heat and cooling, add more events in the day if needed. Super easy and intuitive. The helping hands are locked out by the selectable security settings. There are a few of us that have access to the app on our phones. During our services I can adjust the temperature if needed from my phone without having to get up to change and disturb anyone. This was a great affordable solution, I plan to add the T5 in other areas of the building. We currently have a T5 in our office and it is performing very well. These are great products.
This thermostat is really easy to program. It was also easy to prioritize the master bedroom for sleeping comfort. I have to mention that it does not have a huge number of programming bells and whistles. That said, it makes up for it in ease of setup. This replaced an existing Honeywell programmable thermostat in a new home so the physical installation was super easy. It’s also worth mentioning that the remote sensors were easy to install and setup as well (the attach to the walls with 3M Command strips.)I’ve got two more zones in our home so we’ll get getting more of these and more remote sensors too!
I like this unit. I've had Honeywell thermostats in the past and liked the integration with my phone to enable me to check my system and regulate the house temperature wherever I am. The application for the older thermostat was not terribly complicated and provided an easy way to interact with the device. I purchased this T9 unit for a new house to control a zone that contains the family room with a TV.The installation took about 15 minutes. My current manual thermostat already had a C wire. I set up the basic operation in about five minutes including connecting to my WiFi access point. I installed the app on my iPhone and configured the rest of the parameters including a detailed schedule in a matter of minutes. The software is light years ahead of the Nest. Easy to install and configure, and frankly puts the Nest to shame. It provides the features I want and to choose how I want to use those features. The Echo/Spot integration is a nice feature but they already know enough about me - so I will not immediately use it.
Our most-used rooms are 2 offices on the end of the building that gets a lot of sun, not near the thermostat which is centrally located in the hall. We used 2 sensors, one in each office, and immediately the offices were much more comfortable. We are also using geo-fencing - the offices are used on an irregular basis, and we hope that this also lowers the utility bills. This was the right solution for us, a small church with offices in a former ranch home. The other rooms are used only on Sundays (and not at all during the pandemic). We used our regular HVAC professional for installation; we have a gas-assisted heat pump. Hope that helps!
